President's Message

Dear Colleagues,

West London is the local Law Society for solicitors and trainees based in part of the City of Westminster, extending to both Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham.

The Society offers a lively and stimulating programme of monthly evening meetings, usually held in the prestigious RAF Club in Piccadilly. Always a good opportunity to get together with colleagues in nice surroundings - with food and drink, and CPD points too - but also a chance to earbash our Council members and obtain first hand up-to-date information from them on difficult matters - Carter in particular, and Clementi if you understand it.

In my year of office, I plan, through newly established sub-committees, to concentrate on areas including our education and training programme, criminal law and, perhaps most importantly, furthering the interests of trainees and young Solicitors - the life blood of the future of our profession. 

We shall be delighted to welcome new members.  Membership is inexpensive, and is currently £20.00 p.a, although the first year is free if you set up a standing order and, of course, Trainees and newly qualified Solicitors up to three years are also free.   I do hope that you will join and encourage others in your firm to do so.  Do please note that members will benefit from reduced rates for our events.
