3) September and October Council Meetings

It is just like awaiting for a  bus . There are no Council Meeting for several months and then we have two in two weeks. The September considered the size of Council. It was decided that whilst a smaller Council was desirable the Law Society had such major  task on its  plate such as Clementi and the carter review it was not the time to decide  which Council seats should go.

The October Meeting concentrated on the Major issues of the day such as the Law Society’s response to the Carter Review and the legal services Bill. In both cases it was decided that as the Law Society was now a representative body we should challenge the Government on the Carter Review even that that might generate a more hostile response from the Government on the Legal services bill.

I prepared fuller Council member’s report on the these Council meetings and they are up at is up on the website at http://www.westlondonls.org.uk/page34.html   and

http://www.westlondonls.org.uk/page35.html
