Michael was admitted as a solicitor in 1978 and practiced as an assistant solicitor at Chethams and Brechers before returning to Chethams as a partner in 1986. Michael became a partner at William Sturges in July 2000 upon the merger of the two firms. Michael works in the firm's property department, dealing with commercial property transactions. His experience includes international as well as purely domestic work. Michael's clients are principally property companies, retailers, wealthy individuals and charities.
Michael has been a Law Society Council Member for West London 1998 to 2002 and from 2004 to 2016. He was a member of Corporate Governance Board of the Law Society. He was President of the West London Law Society in 1994. He was the Chairman of the Society for Computers and The Law (London Region) in 1987 and is a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers. He was on the Appeals Panel of The Institute of the Faculty of Actuaries and was one of the Law Society appointed representatives on the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting.
He is a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society and gives talks on Space Law, Astronomy and Geology.
