Saima Hirji

Saima holds in an in-house role as Head of Professional Regulation Policy and Legislation at the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Saima was admitted as a solicitor in 2006; she has a number of years’ experience in professional regulation and has also practised in criminal law and human rights.

Saima joined the Law Society Council in 2020 and also sits on the Law Society’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
She’s a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and sits as an external appeals panel member for the College of Optometrists. She also co-chairs the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s staff network for Black, Asian and ethnic minority members of staff.
